October Workshop – Mid Hudson Special Education Task Force
The Mid Hudson Special Education Task Force is sponsoring a workshop in October for both parents and school personnel. It is entitled “Supporting Positive Sexual Health for Youth with Intellectual Disabilities.” It will be held on October 26th from 6:30-8:30pm at New Paltz High School. There will be a workshop at RCAL entitled “The Scoop on Evaluations and Students with Disabilities.” It will be given by School Psychologist Brian Wonderlich from 5:30 – 7:00pm. An LGBTQ Support and Discussion Group is open to persons with disabilities in the LGBTQ community every second Tuesday of the month beginning on November 14th from 5:30-7:30pm. The place is Taconic Resources for Independence in Poughkeepsie. You can view the flyer below.

Upcoming Workshops Fall 2017
Fall is a busy time, with many workshops covering topics of interest to adults and families. In addition to tomorrow’s Falls Prevention Lunch & Learn and Thursday’s CSE Education Rights Workshop, The Center for Spectrum Services is hosting a few Parenting Workshops in September and October. You can view information about these workshops on our Calendar, as well. If you haven’t registered for these events, please contact the relevant agency to see if there are still slots available.
Mental Health Association (MHA) is continuing to hold their “Building Blocks to An Independent Life” Series, which ends on November 6th.
Please note that we are not responsible for any cancellations that may occur for workshops that are held outside of RCAL. You must call and register if you are interested in attending. We will notify residents of any workshops of that may be of interest as information becomes available.
