Reopening

HOURS

Our Office hours have returned to 9am to 4pm Monday through Friday, but many of our services will require that you call ahead for an appointment. Unfortunately, our lobby cannot hold many individuals and maintain social distancing mandates. We ask that you come at the time of your appointment so you can be served immediately. If you need something from us, please call ahead to be given a time to stop by. We would like to avoid anyone having to wait outside or in their car. This time of year tends to be either hot and/or rainy.
As required by State Law, you will be required to socially distance, wear a mask, and sign an attestation of health to enter our premises. If you are unable to get a mask, please ask for one when you enter.

REP PAYEE

Personal Needs Allowances will continue to only be distributed via automatic deposit or a check in the mail, we will not be able to distribute checks at our location. If you would like to receive your money faster please sign up for automatic deposit, it has been working very well. If you would like to speak to Qiwanna or Miriam please call and leave a message for a call back or for more complex issues, call to make an appointment. Our Representative Payee Program phone number is 845-331-7039.

BENEFITS ADVISEMENT

Benefits advisement will continue to be done on the phone, but you will be able to make an in-person appointment if necessary. Remember we can assist with Medicaid, SNAP and other applications.

LOAN CLOSET

Our Loan Closet will remain closed until July 6th. We will no longer accept donations or returns in our lobby. Items will need to be brought up to our loan closet location in the building on the other side of our parking lot. We will no longer be able to accept donations of anything with fabric material, CPAP machines or nebulizers. Which also means that these items will no longer be available to loan out. We apologize for the inconvenience but need to err on the side of safety. If you wish to borrow an item, please call to see if we have what you need. We can fill out the necessary paperwork over the phone with you and when you arrive to pick up your item you can sign, pay the fee, and go. Remember we will be meeting you at the side entrance of our front building. Please call us when you arrive on our main number, 845-331-0541, and we will come up and meet you. All items are disinfected prior to loan, but as a best practice giving the item another good cleaning when you get it home is a good idea.

Personally, I am so excited to welcome everyone back. If you read our last newsletter, you know how I felt about keeping our doors closed. People people, need people, and if you are in human services that is what you are. Human services are just not the same without our humans, and we have missed all of you so much.

For the 25th anniversary of the ADA five years ago we put up tents in the parking lot, we ate, we drank, we made merry, we danced, and laughed and had a great time. Opening our doors is step one, these times will pass, and we will party in the parking lot again someday, maybe not soon, but I promise someday we will dance in the sun together, all of us again.
